The public health system in India can be strengthened through the presence of well-trained and competent public health professionals. Qualified public health professionals are a necessity to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Such an inter-disciplinary public health workforce can also advance the vision of Universal Health Care. The aim of our MPH program is to make public health education and research activities relevant to India in content and context, while attaining standards which are qualitatively comparable with the best in the world.

Clinical research in a broader sense involves epidemiologic studies, clinical trials, translational research, patient-oriented research, behavioral science and, health service research. High quality data and reliable results are key to generate evidence for decision making and to provide impetus for improving patient care. To produce such data, a systematic and multidisciplinary approach is required involving a range of disciplines like basic sciences, biotechnology, pharmacology, clinical medicine, statistics, and public health and behavioral sciences.

My transition to the Master of Public Health program after completing my Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) has been a game-changer. It opened up new avenues and exposed me to the broader aspects of public health. I gained a comprehensive understanding of public health policies, epidemiology, and research methodologies, allowing me to approach health challenges from a holistic perspective. One of the key pillars of my success during this program has been the unwavering support and guidance of my mentor, Dr. Aashna Mehta. Her mentorship has been instrumental in shaping my journey, and I am grateful for her presence in my life. The support I received from the entire faculty at IIPH-D was remarkable, which helped foster a conducive learning environment in every aspect of the program. The guidance and resources provided by the faculty played a crucial role in securing my placement at the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII). Their encouragement and belief in my potential boosted my confidence, and I felt equipped to take on new challenges in the public health domain. As an alumnus of IIPH-D, I carry with me the cherished memories of a nurturing and empowering educational experience. I am excited to embark on this new chapter, armed with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities that my MPH degree has provided. "Driven by my passion for clinical research, I chose to pursue a Master of Science in Clinical Research, which I undertook at IIPH Delhi. This decision has proven to be transformative, providing me with a strong foundation for my future endeavors. "My interest in public health was sparked during the final year of my BHMS when we were introduced to the subject, Community medicine. Delving deeper into the public health system in India, its deficiencies, and the pressing need for sustainable change, I resolved to pursue a degree in public health post-graduation. Commencing my MPH at IIPH-D in June 2019, I found the course captivating from day one. The diverse teaching methods employed by professors ensured that each session was enriching. Studying at IIPH-D not only enhanced my academic knowledge about the subject but also honed my communication skills, bolstering my confidence and empowering me to voice out my opinions.
