This workshop is useful for individuals who are interested in understanding infectious disease spread and control on the population level from a dyna systems and modelling perspective. This workshop will introduce epidemiological and mathematical concepts underlying infectious disease modelling.

  • Different Modelling Approaches
  • Compartmental Models
  • Interacting Population Model (SIR)
  • Mortality Due to Infection/Disease
  • Fatal Infections (SI Models)
  • Infection/Disease without Immunity (SIS model)
  • Formulating Models for different diseases such as Bacterial, Vector-borne, carrier
    dependent etc.
  • Simulating SIR model in Excel
  • Stimulating compartmental model in R (if participants are aware of programming in R)
